In April of 2021, Governor Stitt signed the No Patient Left Alone Act for the state of Oklahoma. As a response to the tyranny of the Covid Pandemic when patients were isolated from all human contact, including by doctors, who were standing outside the glass walls & never listened to their heart or lungs. Without family to advocate for these patients in many cases the staff would make choices about care for the patient without speaking to family members while patients were unconscious or drugged.
There are some criticisms of the new bill due to a portion that lets the hospital administrations remove the visitation rights for a variety of reasons.
